Startup Center Nis is an incubator for young people’s ideas and business ventures. We offer support to entrepreneurial spirit and the development of creativity among students, as well as innovative start-up companies in the field of science and advanced technologies on their path to maturity.
Our vision includes a contribution to the City of Nis in becoming a regional center for dynamic development of innovative technological entrepreneurship, international promotion of projects and companies in the south and eastern regions of Serbia, as well as strengthening the global competitiveness of the entire Republic of Serbia.
It was established as a joint initiative of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering and the City of Nis and it represents the first step towards building the Science Technology Park in Nis.

Startup Center Nis is announcing a Public Call for potential tenants for utilizing services and connecting with a goal of developing innovative entrepreneurship and supporting young adults in starting their own businesses.
If you are part of a team developing innovative idea and plans to build their own startup or if you already are a registered innovative technological company, active less than two years, put in an application and join the Startup Center community!
The selection of tenants is conducted through three steps: firstly, pre-selection based on sent documentation then interviews with candidates and lastly, a final decision based on the process of evaluating and the aforementioned interview.
The applications are permanently opened until the space capacity is full.

#8 Topic: Creative Industries in Social Entrepreneurship
Within the SME Week 2019 we organize a panel discussion on the topic of Creative Industries in Social Entrepreneurship.
On this occasion, the panelists will present examples of good practice, participate in a workshop where they will be able to make concrete suggestions for problems and challenges in this area, share their past experiences and point out shortcomings and make suggestions for improvement.
Module 1 - "From idea to realization"
A team of experts with experience in applying and implementing EU funded projects will deliver presentations on project idea development, instructions for finding an appropriate public call for proposals, preparing project documentation and submitting applications, preparing a work plan, defining results, key activities and resources, forecasting costs and project budget preparation, as well as defining project partners and beneficiaries and lobbying.
After a very successful previous SGA get together, we packed up a tech meetup focused on game dev themes. It will be something for people working on PC and console projects as well as for those who make mobile games. In the break from tech topics you will be able to try out one original board game, and we have prepared a refreshment for you. Meetup is part of the "Gaming Center" project.

This project is funded by the European Union in partnership with the Government of the Republic of Serbia through the EU PRO program.
Free preparatory workshop on the occasion of the opening of a public call within the project "Challenge for innovative solutions in bio-waste management" organized by UNDP in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and with the support of the Swedish Embassy.
The objectives of the project and the terms of the public call will be presented on this occasion, and the participants will work on developing innovative ideas in the field of bio-waste, and above all food and green waste. At the end of the acceleration phase, the best project ideas will receive financial support for project implementation in the form of project co-financing.
Module 2 - "Project preparation methodology"
The EU-funded project "Support to Participation in EU Programs", implemented by the Ministry of European Integration, organizes Module 2 training for the preparation of project proposals for EU programs with a focus on the following topics: project management cycle, stakeholder and problem analysis, project strategy definition, logical matrix, project timetable, etc.
#8 Topic: Examining Depopulation Through a New Lens
What does depopulation really mean for Serbia? Think about developmental impact and opportunities of depopulation as well as all the alternative data sources you can use to tackle this question.
UNDP and UNFPA have announced the challenge of “Examining Depopulation Thorugh a New Lens”, which aims to gain new insights into demographic trends in Serbia through connecting academia and IT professionals, using traditional and alternative data sources. The prize pool for innovative solutions is $ 40,000.
You will learn more about the challenge itself, but also about the importance of open data and positive examples in the world.

Module 3 - Project management and implementation
The EU-funded project "Support to Participation in EU Programs", implemented by the Ministry of European Integration, organizes Module 3 training for the preparation of project proposals for EU programs with a focus on the following topics: project management, project cycle and initial steps, financial management, monitoring, audit and contract changes, risk management, intellectual property protection, communication and dissemination of results, PRAG rules.
EESTEC organizes an international EESTech Challenge artificial intelligence competition. The aim of the competition is to improve the knowledge of IT students in the field of artificial intelligence through seminars, workshops, video lectures and the main part of the project - hackathon.
The first round will start in Nis with expert lectures focusing on this year's topic, and teams will apply the newly acquired knowledge on a 24-hour hackathon. The winners of the local round will compete with other European teams at the grand finale in Krakow this May, where the second phase of this international project takes place.
