Have you heard of Novska? Novska is a small town in Croatia, in the County of Sisak-Moslavina, with a population of about 7000, but Novska is also the center of the gaming industry in the region!
As part of the Gaming Center project implemented by the Startup Center with the support of the European Union through the EU PRO program, in February we visited this small phenomenon that attracts young people from all parts of Croatia and beyond. We met the residents of PISMO incubator in Novska and heard their personal experiences in starting gaming studios from scratch, and from the experts who intensively work with them, we learned a bit more about business development and marketing in this area.
A tour of the new incubator part, which is equipped with state-of-the-art technology worth millions of euros, such as 720-degree VR simulators and motion capture studio, has taken us to a new dimension.
After the gaming incubator, Novska plans to get the gaming industry campus and e-Sport arena as well. Their goal is to establish a five-year higher education program with 50 students a year, as well as a high school program with 24 students a year.
With a lot of impressions and great motivation, we continue to implement the gaming center in Nis.
Many thanks for the hospitality to the PISMO incubator and director Mario Celan, as well as to Zvonimir Miksic and Dominic Cvetkovski for inspirational lectures, and especially to all the tenants of this great incubator for a dedicated time!
